How we work
Varanasi’s brocades have a characteristic weave in which butis (motifs) and patterns are created by thrusting Zari threads (the pure form of zari threads are derived from gold) between the warp at intended intervals. It is usually woven on a Jacquard loom. Varanasi brocades are known for their unique variety of patterns, such as Jangla, Jamdani weaves, Tanchoi, Cutwork, etc.
